4 Years ago, Colbert said, on Nov. 6 - the day Trump claimed victory - "We all knew he would do this....What I didn't know is that it would hurt so much. I didn't expect this to break my heart."

I think about this almost daily. Today, seeing two of his 4 criminal cases thrown out, is heartbreaking. We know it was coming. We knew it would hurt. But today is now one of the many days in the death of America and very likely in the death of the very ideas of the democracy.
