Looming US v Everyone trade war will certainly cause major damage to that economy, but not convinced it will hurt Australia significantly.
Our major trading partners have been preparing for this for some time in various ways, China's heavy investment in its growing domestic market for instance.
And we're one of a few countries with a trade deficit with the US. Them tanking actually reduces our debt exposure, especially if we enact reciprocal tariffs as called for by our trade agreements. And other countries will likewise level reciprocal tariffs on them - making our our own industries with US rivals much more competitive.
Then there's the positives for the environment of a crippled US economy. Much lower production from a fossil fuel based nation means lower fossil fuel use.
Not saying there won't be negatives just not convinced they'll outweigh the positives, for us anyway. The US is fucked.
