Quinn Norton@JeremyMcGee I mean the history of the catholic church and the reformation definitely supports you here. i think there's something in it in the human desire to feel safe. grabbing power and not letting people express themselves keeps institutions safe, and we like that comfort. figuring out how to engage with that desire in a prosocial way... we do it sometimes, we should do it more.
