Time and time again human beings, absent some bad faith leader and system manipulating them, *do the right thing and want to do the right thing*.

Before neoliberalism, "big, good things" happened all the time. The EPA in the 1970s. Civil Rights Act and Moon Landing in the 1960s. NASA in the 1950s. Marshall Plan and GI Bill in the 1940s. New Deal in the 1930s. Child Labor and Workmen's Comp laws in the 1900s.

Each of these was transformative *in its time*, not incremental or surface.
