I tried using 1Password’s SSH agent and there’s a lot to like about it. Having a nice prompt to let you know when an app has requested the use of the key is reassuringly affirmative, making you feel in control.

But damn, it’s annoying to do unless presumably you’re using biometric authentication. I don’t mind typing my passphrase when I’m actively looking up a password, but when I’m asked to do it reactively at hard to predict times it becomes irritating 🫤
