This was an interesting conversation. Many of the replies put on qualifications based on usage, as if using a VPN for one reason was in-bounds but using a VPN for another reason was not.

I found that surprising, since the question is *really* straightforward. It reminds me that technologies are opinionated, and people think of one thing or another when they hear the name of a technology.
