@nyanide It appears the massive speedup only really happens on the newest CPUs and really it was a fix to a performance regression, so netbooks will run as fast as previously with an updated version of the kernel, Linux.

As long as you don't try to run garbage software, netbooks have no problem working as a fast GNU/Linux computer - after all they have at least a billion bytes of RAM and are clocked in excess of 1 billion clock cycles a second.
