The German verb "lindnern" (from the name of Christian Lindner, former German minister of finances) can have several meanings:
- to join a coalition but at the same time be in constant opposition to it
- to agree on decisions within a coalition but to cancel them whenever it suits your mood
- to talk a lot without saying anything
- to say a lot without meaning anything
You say there is no such word in German? Oh. Well, maybe I lindnered a little bit.
