The mainstream stuff has in some cases been filmed passably well ("Complicity") and I'd like to see "The Crow Road" or "The Wasp Factory" done right. You could probably do the structurally simpler Culture yarns, too: start with "The State of the Art" and "The Player of Games", maybe?
