Going forward, it looks like we might be able to get actual Linux apps running on modern Android through a built-in VM, similar to what you can do on ChromeOS today.
If you think that’s too nerdy for most people, you’re probably right—but it’s *much* simpler and lower-barrier than flashing an entirely new OS and abandoning the entire ecosystem they’ve been using for the last decade or more all at once for an ecosystem that frankly isn’t ready.
