@snacks @mischievoustomato It's very likely LPDDR5 based, because that way you can "easily" make custom order chips without much added costs.

It's the same with the SSD chips. They are slightly unusual NAND chips from SK Hynix (or Samsung) without some integrated controllers or something. Basically a typical SSD chip, but slightly different so nobody but Apple can officially get them.
