Kamala's whole "trans surgeries to illegal immigrants" shtick from an interview in 2019 or whatever was such a massive fail. While it's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, it's so easily weaponized.

Not only was it a pointless theoretical scenario, but somehow nobody ever took the opportunity to make a level-headed statement about it.

All that needed to be said was something like, "I just want to be clear -- if someone incarcerated needs to continue a course of treatment while in our care we will provide it, but we will not offer free elective surgeries to inmates for any reason."

That's it. That's all that was needed to be said. It's perfectly reasonable. You go in during cancer treatment, you get your cancer meds. You go in while transitioning, you continue your HRT meds. But nobody gets free cosmetic surgeries. It doesn't make sense.

Yeah that's ridiculous isn't it? It's exactly what people hear, though.

Everyone with half a brain understands this, but somehow Dem leadership couldn't muster up the courage to form those words and say them on television.
