Everyone forgets that before Trump reclaimed the term "fake news," it used to refer to content mills producing fake stories and lies about Black folk, Democrats and others. Fake news eventually became an influence operation, but its start was much more benign: unscrupulous webmasters were creating sensational stories just for the advertising bucks.🤷🏿♂️ They quickly realized that the racist grandmas were much more gullible than non-racist grandmas.
