It is strange how:

We accept military technology (the technology to kill) has improved and is now more efficient and successful at killing people if necessary

But we do not accept medical technology (the technology to make people healthy) is more efficient and successful at making people healthy. Many forms of medical quackery like homeopaths, chiropractors, faith healing etc are prevalent. We are suspicious of all newly developed medicine. The newer the medical pharmaceutical innovation the more fearful we are that it will harm us instead of helping us.
