I've read Moby-Dick more times than I can count & every time I hope Starbuck will end the reign of Ahab's fascism/madness. He never does & it never ends & everyone on the Pequod who takes an oath to follow Ahab -- w/the exception of Ishmael, of course -- dies. I am teaching Moby-Dick again this spring. We'll see how it goes.
