    Let this be your north star in evaluating platform regulation proposals. Platform regulation should *weaken* intermediaries' powers over their users, and *strengthen* their power over other middlemen.

    Put in this light, it's easy to see why the ill-informed calls to abolish Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (which makes platform users, not platforms, responsible for most unlawful speech) are so misguided:
