This isn't that the Democrats ran a bad campaign or put a bad candidate up. This isn't about the leftists who didn't vote or voted third party. This is about America being fundamentally transphobic, racist, and rotten to its core. This is a scathing indictment of American exceptionalism, of how the American system and by extension a majority of Americans actually support fascism if it means upholding white supremacy, the patriarchy, and/or cisheterosexual normativity.
Kamala didn't lose because of policy, either domestic or foreign. She lost because she is a woman of color.
Conversely, Trump won because he is a white man who is every type of bigot one can be, and because that exact thing is popular in America. Americans want that. Those are truly American values.
Could Harris have won if everyone on the left voted for her? Maybe. But that's like asking if Hitler could have won World War 2 if he didn't invade Russia. He was never not going to invade Russia, so it's a pretty stupid hypothetical. That's not how voting demographics work.
Attacking people directly to your left or to your right is stupid, unfounded, and extremely unhelpful. We need to build a coalition now more than ever.
This wasn't a failure on the part of the left, but a resounding victory for hatred, bigotry, and good old America brand fascism that we've been cultivating since before the country's founding. America is intrinsically a fascist place built on the backs of white hegemony, oligarchy, slavery, and genocide. Trump is the most American politician we could have asked for.
Fuck this place, fuck "American values", and fuck Donald Trump. Let's get to work I guess. :meowshrug:
