If someone asked you how to get their first job in #software as a #developer what would you say? Non-traditional background but very bright, ideally #FOSS work. Any tips you'd give?

I said:

a. build #skills that others don't have, and that the industry wants. #ai #security #industry

b. get to know #people that are passionate about the same things you are. Go to meetups, conferences and talk to people

c. #reputation by giving #talks and build a #github portfolio

d. ask peeps for a job!
