Were these dams in bad shape? There are a ton of dams in America that really need to be torn down, because there's no money to maintain them and any spillover/breaks would bring insane devastation.

Dams were from a similar bullshit era of green energy as today, before people discovered damns destroy salmon spawning, prevent natural fertilizer from moving down river to farmlands and barely produce enough energy to justify their existence.

Today, replace all that with solar farms and lithium mines.
