Bill Gates is the same archetype. Back when I was still an aspiring student who hadn't opened his eyes to the evils of the world, I read biographical works about him and thought he was a legend. The man is scary smart, even after he stepped back from the development side of Microsoft to handle the business end, he proved he could still code circles around Paul Allen, who was brilliant in his own right. But as I read more about him in later years, I saw all the dark triad traits he harbors too. He's brilliant, mad and wields wealth that would humble Roman emperors. It's a terrifying combination.
