@Turkleton The original italian pizza was more or less these pictures, a Margherita pizza as its known now. The reason the pizza came into being was because "in 1889, when Queen Margherita of Savoy visited Naples, chef Raffaele Esposito of Pizzeria Brandi created the pizza to honor her. The cheese represents the white in the italian flag, the tomato sauce the red in the flag, and the basil the green in the flag. It was originally called a pizza pie, the queen requested a pie and a pie was made for her with the colors of the flag.
