@shadowferret @thendrix they skipped holding primaries to install the incumbent. (this is not an uncommon thing for the uniparty to do.)

the problem is that they've never had to hard abort the incumbent before, and now they're stuck in a position where some states had closed ballot registries and they now have no candidate.

the correct answer is to just have the primaries anyway but :blobcatdunno:

from what little i've paid attention there *are* people at the DNC that are unhappy with this state of affairs (because Harris had an approval rating of 17% when she did run) but are being told to shut up by corporate because Orange Man Bad.
