one thing I’ve observed about time is that it does not ever go backward in the ways that I want it to. which makes memory and the act of re-membering (as in putting together) a profoundly important part of life and culture (which wholly contains notions of “science” and “technology”)
I think there’s a reason it feels uniquely good to drift into certain kinds of personal nostalgia, or to sit around and laugh with people who you shared experiences with in the past: we’re wired for memory keeping
