@hj @mangeurdenuage Plastic is often less durable than glass - I've had plastic containers break from things that wouldn't break glass.

Most plastics cannot compare to the heat resistance, abrasion resistance and inertness of glass.

When plastic breaks, it tends to break into sharp pieces, while you can temper glass to get it to break into not that sharp pieces.
