Timnit Gebru (she/her)To clarify, I'm an electrical engineer and know why datasheets are important, how they're used etc. But does anyone know how they came to be that important, and whether there was a time when people didn't have datasheets associated with their components. And were there discussions of having such documentation and what should go in those documentations? Were there arguments? What was the process by which we arrived at having datasheets?
