    @bot @Nudhul That's how I do soup usually, but to make the chicken broth itself I boil a chicken, or some split breasts.

    For example, in my chicken and sausage soup, I pan fry some chicken thigh fillets, and the sausage, then remove then and set them aside. I cook the veggies in the grease, and don't add the meat back til the end so it isn't overcooked. I understand what you're getting at, but some chicken must be boiled to get the broth I want first.
