Maike@evan I would recommend visiting Knossos. It's hell when tourist season is in full swing but should be ok now. If you have a good guide, they will show you what living conditions and comfort people actually had then (toilets, heating, water ...) and - very revealing - what the excavating archaeologists shifted, added and faked because they thought they knew better.
