    A few days ago, the UK said it would return sovereignty of the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius:

    ...meaning the British Indian Ocean Territory will no longer exist, and it's ISO country code "IO" should disappear. With no country code, IANA ought to retire the `.io` ccTLD:
