- Embed this noticecounting wouldn't be so fast if we had a trustworthy system that encompassed manual recounting of a significant fraction of the votes, as in countries that don't turn democracy into a video game, and instead take it seriously. I'd take trustworthy over fast any time. as it stands, nobody can really tell whether the voting machines (double meaning intended) were running the software signed by parties and public-interest organizations, so the results are worth as much as the paper that the ballots are (not) printed on for analog recounting. of course, there's never been any proof of fraud, because the system is designed to make it impossible. not the fraud, but the proof. 3rd world or not, it's still a banana republic, and proud of it no less :-(
