Just tell him to be very careful about the counsel he chooses. Family law practitioners tend to be the bottom of the barrel. If he can find one that also does complex personal injury cases, e.g. medical cases, that's probably a better choice than someone who just does family law. That's not always the case, but I've met family law attorneys. 😒
