#books recommendation: is there something like a less racist Golden Bough? I love mythology and folk horror and Frazier delivers (no, I don't believe what he writes, but I still find it entertaining) but he was, well, pretty bad.
I am aware of real anthropology, mind, but it's not really what I'm looking for; I'm talking about something with lots of old gods, strange rituals etc. Kinda Lovecraft-y but also real (or real-adjacent, like Frazier).
