    I feel like I want to debate this but meh

    Still in short: the performance increase, and massive parallelism created entirely new qualities that computers of old lacked.

    I know a place that's installing a 1 EB storage cluster (currently running at 0.35 EB). You cannot reasonably program that stuff like it was a VAX.
