"Should the Government Break Up Big Corporations or Buy Them?"

Historically, governments are REALLY bad at running for-profit corporations.

Innovation is stifled and growth is limited to avoid putting privately run competitors out of business.

Breaking them up usually works better, though we need better anti-trust laws to keep those new "broken up corporations" from forming alliances that simply turn them into huge conglomerates.
