So many bought-in personalities change their tone to try influence the segment of their audience that typically loathes their statements. It's why I try to resist giving credit to normalfags who sound based all of a sudden during election years. To be fair, there is a real temptation to hop on the hypetrain when normalfags unexpectedly start going hard. It's novel & tickles the confirmation bias about "changing the mainstream narrative". And to be fair, sometimes this is actually legitimate; but in election years, much of this is cynical dishonesty. If an "influencer" you don't personally know irl becomes "based" out of nowhere, assume Machiavellianism on their part (at least until elections are over).
