Thing I said today in my API Design workshop when describing the basic difference between 400 level HTTP response codes and 500 level response codes:
“400s are basically the server telling the client to quit it. Unless you fix the problem the answer stays the same. 500s are basically the server saying, ‘It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me’.”
