The left-right axis is an economic one, the more to the right, the more you're able to support yourself.
The more to the left, the more likely it is you depend on a gigantic government and leach off of everybody else's paychecks.

Under capitalism and anarchy/libertarianism, you foot your own bills.
Under communism/soycialism/fascism, everybody else foots your bills.
