What's interesting about the grotesque attitudes that Republicans in America have toward other Americans that might not look or act like them is that it's exactly the same attitude that Democrats have toward people across the planet who might not think like them.

The violent, coercive levers that the state can pull at anytime to punish or correct alleged enemies simply must remain in place at all times, because we can and should use them however we see fit.
