As any teacher will tell you, when working with kids one can see how their parents treat them.

Doing security during Sunday School. As the kids start filing in I’m flying (putting up) a tarp to protect myself from the blazing sun.

During recess a 8-year old girl comes up to me saying, “You got it up. Good job! I can see you worked very hard on this.”

Not “You’re so good at this.” But “you worked very hard on this.”

She’s wise beyond her years.
