MatLately I've seen posts that say that Mastodon is waning, and arguably should be doing more to win people over from using Bluesky or Threads, which makes me wonder does it even matter? Sure I'd love #Mastodon to be the most popular platform, and for all my friends to be using it, but I'd argue the that it's not the role of the #Fediverse to be the dominant platform, and instead provide an alternative to #bigtech social media.
