Eniko FoxBrazilians didn't go to Bluesky instead of Mastodon because of some perceived reputation issue with Mastodon involving instance shutdowns. Brazilians went to Bluesky because they had less than 48 hours and Bluesky is the most Twitter like and has the smoothest onboarding process. They went there because unlike English speaking countries (and I'm including European countries where English is not a first language but is widely spoken/understood) fedi doesn't really have much of any foothold among Brazilians and or Portuguese speakers
