Millennials in the 2000s latched onto homophobia and racism as being the boogeyman to stand against because at the time society already agreed that treating people differently because of things about themselves that they can't change is unfair. And also even back then people were scared of being called racist or bigoted. So once they got their foot in the door, the woke millennials shifted the overton window to such an extent that they dominated mainstream culture and we're finally sort of at the tail end of that. Meanwhile these right-wing zoomers today point at you and say "OH MY GOD HE LIKES LOOKING AT THEM BIG BOOBIE HENTAIS!?!?!!! HE'S A TRANNERINO!!! PORN ADDICT! PORN ADDICT!" and everyone's like "bro who gives a shit, get the fuck outta here"
