If you, like me, lost the ability to use vim thanks to #emacs: to connect to a host via ssh and act as root using doas (#freebsd / #OpenBSD ):
/ssh:<user>@<host>|doas::/etc/
you don't need to pass user/host to doas, like you need to sudo.
