@remixtures in my experience, this barely touched on the *actual* issue and nobody is really discussing it...
The problem is the vast amount of posts coming through federation and the fact that the most used softwares don't have automated ways to report possibly problematic posts.
If a user doesn't report it and an admin/moderator doesn't *see* it, it cannot be dealt with.
That's asinine. Especially considering that a lot of users come from corporate platforms where their experience tells them that the report button is a waste of time. Most just don't use it.
For example, if a person uses the full n-word with the hard R, there's a VERY high probability that it's not used in a good way. There's not really a good way to use that word. Personally, I'd want any post using that word to be automatically reported to me for review. I use Mastodon. That's not possible.🤦♂️
You do *slightly* touch on the topic of something like this that IFTAS seems to be working on. However, you only discussed it within the very limited scope of CSAM. CSAM is far from the only bad thing here that can be automatically detected and these tools need to be customizable to fit admin needs. If I want every post using the word "Politics" to be reported to me, that should be insanely easy to do. Yet, here we are having this discussion...😩
