@MazeWars It might depend a lot on the specifics of a game. The last RTS I played in large amounts was the original Starcraft, and its most crucial camera feature was the instant teleport, most notably to where the last reported event happened (but you could also teleport between numbered groups). Edge panning was fine for when I wasn't in a hurry, but these days I think I'd like the mouse drag better.
