They had internal schools that after 7 or so years you were allowed to attend and took 18 months to go through. X-company University they were called. It was not a lark. You had to work at the company 7 years to even be invited to attend. And it was by selection. You didn't apply. They picked you. That 7 years prior was you proving you were worth it for the company to invest in you. Everyone took it seriously.
Now, nothing is serious. Nothing at all.
