The emphasis on "the middle class" in political speech lately is annoying the heck out of me. I don't consider myself "middle class". If I must use these sorts of terms, I am "working class". I barely squeak by on my income while the specter of financial disaster is never far off.

It is really alienating to hear talk about improving things for the middle class. Who tf makes up "the middle class" and why are these fuckers so special?
