Thrusting isn't allowed since that would kill, even with a blunted weapon. And polearms aren't often used in profights (grappling, kicking, throws) unless both parties agree to it, since they get in the way of grappling. Usually they're used in melees (3v3, 5v5, 150v150) etc., where you'll have guys with short weapons grappling to tie the other team up, and then the polearm guys will come in and slash the thighs, ass, etc., to help drop a guy.
