We were pretty sure something died in our garage. It smelled like rot and death.

I did a major clean-out a month or two ago, and found the culprit: some cans of terrible beer I bought as slug bait had been sitting there for…oh, ten years at least, and a couple of them had either been crushed or exploded in the heat and soaked into some potting soil.
