@Yukari my answer is the boring one: read more books. If you read enough different books, especially from people that match your own background, it's easier to appreciate that the way you process & record language is a reflection of your experience as a human being. Just because you're not writing like *insert upper middle class white English speaker* that doesn't make it inferior writing. Personally, I try and work to an internal aesthetic: is it accurate to my intentions & does it please me.
