The open source community has great developers, but it still lacks enough UI designers and just... Designers overall.

While things are getting better (and we're seeing better and better UIs and logos on the Fediverse: Pixelfed's, the MissKey forks' and Akkomane come to mind - it's a shame people who limit themselves to Mastodon are unaware of that) there are still some issues.
And yes, I'm referring to the Fediverse logo debate.

Yes, the old one is not so great, but the replacement proposal that's making ground is terrible.
